{"id":1826,"date":"2008-08-06T02:40:35","date_gmt":"2008-08-06T02:40:35","guid":{"rendered":"0"},"modified":"2008-08-06T02:41:59","modified_gmt":"2008-08-06T02:41:59","slug":"one_problem_wit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/marcdanziger.com\/?p=1826","title":{"rendered":"One Problem With Cloud Computing and SaaS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chrisbrogan.com\/when-google-owns-you\/\" target=\"browser\">Chris Brogan&#8217;s blog<\/a>, about unhappy Google customer Nick Saber:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>Suddenly, Nick can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t access his Gmail account, can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t open Google Talk (our office IM app), can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t open Picasa where his family pictures are, can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t use his Google Docs, and oh by the way, he paid for additional storage. So, this is a paying customer with no access to the Google empire.<\/p>\n<p>\nIf he was doing something wrong\/illegal\/invalid, they might\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve said so (not thinking that he was). If he had been hacked, wouldn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t that be something vaguely apparent? I dunno, but it seems like that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d be the way.<\/p>\n<p>\nSo, what happens now? What does Nick do? He\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s sent a bunch of emails. But now what? Locked out of ALL of Google\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s apps, the apps that I praise daily, the apps where Julien Smith and I are writing a book. Should we be doing that? I didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t see a problem until this. What if we\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re the next Nick? <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8230;customer service.
