{"id":2050,"date":"2009-04-12T19:15:03","date_gmt":"2009-04-12T19:15:03","guid":{"rendered":"0"},"modified":"2009-04-12T19:15:03","modified_gmt":"2009-04-12T19:15:03","slug":"good_for_obama","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/marcdanziger.com\/?p=2050","title":{"rendered":"Good For Obama, Good For The Navy&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From <a href=\"http:\/\/news.bbc.co.uk\/2\/hi\/africa\/7996087.stm\" target=\"browser\">the Beeb<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>Three pirates were said to have been killed in the operation to free Captain Richard Phillips, who had been held in a lifeboat for several days.<\/p>\n<p>Capt Phillips is said to be unhurt and on the USS Bainbridge, a warship sent to track the pirates holding him.<\/p>\n<p>He was taken hostage after pirates briefly hijacked his ship, the Maersk Alabama on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>On Friday he failed in an attempt to swim free.<\/p>\n<p>An unnamed US official told the Associated Press that Capt Phillips was freed in what appeared to be a swift firefight. <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>You know a decision like this went all the way to the top, and to their credit, Obama&#8217;s White House was willing to make the call. And &#8211; to the immense credit of the operators who carried the mission out &#8211; they were successful.<\/p>\n<p>Good for everyone, and welcome home, Capt.
