They are a very real manifestation of Whitman:<\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;I hear America singing, the varied carols I hear. &#8220;&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\nFewer and fewer Americans know soldiers as the tradition of military service slips into history. Buy the book, meet some, and listen to them.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>And when you buy the book, take a moment to send an email or letter to both the <a href=\"mailto:comments@whitehouse.gov\" target=\"browser\">White <\/a>House and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.defenselink.mil\/faq\/comment.html\" target=\"browser\">Secretary of Defense<\/a>, asking why it is that midlevel Pentagon bureaucrats are choking off the ability of our troops to blog and of our bloggers (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.weeklystandard.com\/Content\/Public\/Articles\/000\/000\/012\/844nigml.asp\" target=\"browser\">this<\/a> from Michael Yon) to cover the troops:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>Classification: UNCLASSIFIED<\/p>\n<p>\nMr. Yon;<\/p>\n<p>\nI do not recognize your website as a media organization that we will use as a source to credential journalists covering MNF-I operations.<\/p>\n<p>\nLTC Barry Johnson<br \/>\nDirector, CPIC<br \/>\nwww.mnf-iraq.com <\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Somethings speak for themselves.
