This is going to trigger some interesting discussion<\/a>. And very timely, considering the ‘935 lies<\/a>‘ campaign.<\/p>\n

Saddam Hussein initially didn’t think the U.S. would invade Iraq to destroy weapons of mass destruction, so he kept the fact that he had none a secret to prevent an Iranian invasion he believed could happen. The Iraqi dictator revealed this thinking to George Piro, the FBI agent assigned to interrogate him after his capture.<\/i><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

For me, this remains one of the logical answers as to why Saddam didn’t come clean on his programs, and why Bush would have risked the obvious problems resulting from lying about the intelligence.<\/p>\n
