{"id":1877,"date":"2008-09-10T00:54:29","date_gmt":"2008-09-10T00:54:29","guid":{"rendered":"0"},"modified":"2008-09-10T00:57:53","modified_gmt":"2008-09-10T00:57:53","slug":"bundlers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marcdanziger.com\/?p=1877","title":{"rendered":"Bundlers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>OK, when I looked at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thenetworkthinker.com\/2008\/09\/weekend-data-mining.html\" target=\"browser\">Valdis Krebs post<\/a> on the overlap between bundlers, I <a href=\"http:\/\/www.windsofchange.net\/archives\/nice_picture_bad_analysis.php\" target=\"browser\">felt that he hadn&#8217;t done a very good job on the numbers<\/a>. I still feel that way, and spent some time at breakfast today downloading bundler data from the <a href=\"http:\/\/action.citizen.org\/content.jsp?content_KEY=3000&#038;t=WhiteHouseForSale.dwt\" target=\"browser\">Public Citizen<\/a> website, and doing some fast analysis on it (honestly, I spent more time converting the HTML to csv). Here is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.windsofchange.net\/bundlers.xls\">the Excel spreadsheet<\/a>, so you can play with the data yourself.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s some basic data:<\/p>\n<p>506\tunique Obama bundlers<br \/>\n528\tunique Kerry bundlers<br \/>\n60\toverlaps<\/p>\n<p>1094\ttotal bundlers<\/p>\n<p>5.5%\tpct overlap\/total<br \/>\n10.2%\tpct Kerry that overlaps<br \/>\n10.6%\tpct Obama that overlaps<\/p>\n<p>725\tunique McCain bundlers<br \/>\n432\tunique Bush04 bundlers<br \/>\n125\toverlaps (not 128 as Valdis found &#8211; don&#8217;t know where his data came from)<\/p>\n<p>1282\ttotal bundlers<\/p>\n<p>9.8%\tpct overlap\/total<br \/>\n22.4%\tpct Bush04 that overlaps<br \/>\n14.7%\tpct McCain that overlaps<\/p>\n<p>So roughly twice as many GOP bundlers overlapped from Bush04 to McCain.
