But he ignores the key characteristic of the modern Democratic Party that leads most directly to misuse of pollsters: the fact that Democrats are, by and large, a post-ideological party, a party driven more by polls and interest groups than by conviction or principle.<\/p>\n<p>\nIn short, although many Republican ideas are bad, at least they have them.
