{"id":749,"date":"2005-03-14T00:43:57","date_gmt":"2005-03-14T00:43:57","guid":{"rendered":"0"},"modified":"2006-09-28T12:09:04","modified_gmt":"2006-09-28T12:09:04","slug":"back_in_a_bit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marcdanziger.com\/?p=749","title":{"rendered":"Back In A Bit&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I&#8217;m working on a long post about the crisis in liberalism, based in part on having just re-read Theodore Lowi&#8217;s &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/exec\/obidos\/ASIN\/B0006BYY00\/armedliberal-20?creative=327641&#038;camp=14573&#038;link_code=as1\" target=\"browser\">The End of Liberalism<\/a>&#8221; which I pulled off the shelf when it called to me&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;but TG reminds me that today is our 1<sup>st<\/sup> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.windsofchange.net\/archives\/004704.php\" target=\"browser\">anniversary<\/a> and we have better things to do.<\/p>\n<p>So I&#8217;ll leave you with a Lowi quote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><i>The most clinically accurate term to describe the American variant is <i>interest group liberalism<\/i>. It may be called liberalism because it expects to use government in a positive and expansive role, it is motivated by the highest sentiments, and it posesses strong faith that what is good for government is good for the society.
