When I listen to people like Cynthia McKinney I wonder a lot about their attachment to reality; I mean they adapt it so much and so often that someone watching is left wondering if there is a cynical awareness that they are lying, or if somehow they just don’t see the same objective reality that the rest of us do.
Last night Cynthia McKinney debated Hank Johnson (I’ll find a link and out it up when I find a video or a transcript).
Among a lot of other amusing statements, this one leapt out: McKinney bragged that political Web site Congress.org rated her first among Georgia House Democrats in the sub-category of legislation, though many of her colleagues had no score. So let’s go to Congress.org (because that what we do in the blogs, we click through and look).
|Name |Rank in State |Score |Rank in House|
| Rep. Kingston (R-GA-1) |1 |21.38 |…77|
| Rep. Linder (R-GA-7) |2 |21.00 |…87|
| Rep. Norwood (R-GA-9) |3 |18.50 |…123|
| Rep. Deal (R-GA-10) |4 |14.88 |…209|
| Rep. Bishop (D-GA-2) |5 |13.50 |…247|
| Rep. Price (R-GA-6) |6 |11.62 |…271|
| Rep. Lewis (D-GA-5) |7 |10.89 |…287|
| Rep. Westmoreland (R-GA-8) |8 |10.37 |…296|
| Rep. Gingrey (R-GA-11) |9 |9.25 |…325|
| Rep. Scott (D-GA-13) |10 |7.25 |…364|
| Rep. Marshall (D-GA-3) |11 |5.25 |…407|
| Rep. McKinney (D-GA-4) |12 |5.25 |…408|
| Rep. Barrow (D-GA-12) |13 |4.00 |…430|
That’s the only ranking I can find on the site. So is she flat lying, or just delusional?
And should the people of Atlanta be represented by the 408th most powerful member of the House?
Be fair – it looks like she’s actually _tied_ for 407th place!
AL:
If you click her name on the Congress.Org link, you find that her score includes a “1” ranking in legislation, which appears to be very low, but if you click on the “1” ranking, you come to “this page”:http://www.congress.org/congressorg/power_rankings/power_cats.tt?cat=L which seems to indicate that McKinney is ranked 285 in Legislation, which indeed puts her above her five Democratic colleagues, all of whom scored 0 on legislation.
She is at least mediocore by comparison.
Technically, she represents Decatur and DeKalb County more than Atlanta, most of which is represented by John Lewis.
Of course, Decatur deserves better too.
Also, Congress.Org ranks Georgia 50th in its overall power-rankings, which is below Puerto Rico, but higher than Arkansas.
McKinney to constituents: “Please grade me on a curve!”
I was going to note that perhaps she wasn’t aware of Marshall being there. But Andy caught it. If I were a Dem (and I used to be) I would _so_ not like her. Since I’m not, I find her behavior humorous.

[George W. Bush]
[Dick Cheney]
[Bill Frist]
[Tony Snow]
[Donald Rumsfeld]
[Condoleeza Rice]
[Alberto Gonzalez]
[Dennis Hastert]
[Tom Delay]

Dear Andy L –
If you believe what you printed about those people that you listed, I would suggest that you and whatever party you are affiliated with take the initiative that AL has and work to defeat them in elections.
Cheers
You have to realize how Democrats are scored for “legislation”. You get 10 points for showing up, 100 points for wearing a dress, 250 points for talking your way out of a DUI on the way there, and 500 points for assaulting a law enforcement officer.

Glen, LOL funny! Does this make Cynthia McKinney the #1 Democratic legislator in the House of Representatives?
She was actually modest when she made this claim: “McKinney bragged that political Web site Congress.org rated her _first among Georgia House Democrats in the sub-category of legislation_”
McKinney’s statement is accurate. She has a rating of 0.5 points in the Legislation category. The other GA Democrats all have 0. (As do well over 100 other Representatives.)
Of course, what could be expected for McKinney, a black woman Democrat in a Congress run by white male Republicans?
Well, Sheila Jackson-Lee of TX has a Legislation rating of 14.75 points, which is the highest for any Democrat and #12 over all.
What Color Is The Sky On McKinney’s Planet?
It’s blue, mostly, but thanks to Republicans its becoming blacker every day.
And what about on your planet, Armed Liberal? LMAO.
