Props (Jets, actually…)

…to Continental Airlines. I’m in Milwaukee (don’t ask, yes it’s cold) headed to North Carolina to see Biggest Guy. A storm is hitting my connection point in Cleveland, and there was no way I’d make my connection. The very nice rep just voluntarily reticketed me on a Midwest nonstop.

If I’m going to feel free to bitch about bad service, I’ve always felt that the price is the willingness to compliment people who give good service. Today I’m happy to pay it.

  1. Boy did WE have different experiences.

I had two gate agents flat out lie to me, one tell me and 15 other people (including an elderly lady with luggage) to ‘run, you can make it’ and refuse to call our connection, had them charge me an extra $200 to bring my baggage home from US Army Basic Training, and then lose my luggage.

Their solution was to have me fill out a form that they would file. No action would be taken – just file the form.

You can read my story here:

As you can guess, I was really unimpressed. I’ll never fly Continental again, and I’m betting neither will those other folks – who also all got their luggage lost.

If you want to fly somewhere, I really would NOT fly Continental.
