Take a look at the picture on the upper left of this page of the L.A. Times (go ahead, sign in using ‘laexaminer’/’laexaminer’, it’s worth it).
Notice anything?? Look closely at the U.S. soldier’s hand.
It’s a woman soldier.
Look at the expressions on the faces of all the boys standing around her.
Tell me their views of the world won’t be damn different different five years from now, because of this.
(fixed dumb error…’ago’ should have been ‘from now’)
(Good looking) Chicks w/guns who who can drop you hundreds of yards away.
Cooool.
Heh. Indeed.
OT, but no comment now that Bush laid out the SecretNeoConPlan last night?

Since I’m the one who’s bitched the most about the lack of plan and selling thereof, I’ve actually been digesting the speech and the response; blogging to follow.

The boys in the picture look shocked and awed.

looking foward to it.
THe soldier in the picture is possibly a translator, many of the enlisted translators are females.
I’m not the kind to look for Leftist or statist media bias in every story, but I was still struck by something. Did anyone else note the chart comparing different departments and what funding is requested for them against the reconstruction costs?
It looks to me like they were trying to make the reconstruction cost seem really large. The only larger amount shown on the chart is DoD itself, and such large costs as medicare and social security are not included at all, though they would dwarf the $87 billion figure and are at least as relevant as, say, the Department of Education.
woooow. that is great.
