I started to post another piece on the Times and realized that it’s Christmas Eve, and that when they say “not even a mouse [was stirring]” they meant the optical kind as well.
So today and tomorrow are days when I’ll encourage everyone reading this to shut down the computer, reach out to those you love, those you need, and those who need you.
Think good thoughts for those who serve. Far from home, facing danger in our name, keep them in your thoughts – and do something for them as well.
It’s a scary time, and we’re all worried it’ll be hard ahead of us. But when you have love, family, and friends – nothing is truly hard.
That’s my wish for myself and for all of you.
Merry Christmas.
