No memo on this yet from the LA Times’ Tony Pierce.

The Clinton’s should send Edwards a gift. He makes Bill look a LOT better. I’m not sure how much more craven and despicable a human being can be than John Edwards. And the media lap dogs that enabled him aren’t great either.
I used to blog quite a bit about bogus “Pulitzer ‘nominations'”:http://smythesworld.blogspot.com/search/label/Pulitzer%20%22nomination%22/; I wonder if the process has changed recently, or if we are going to hear in the future that the National Enquirer was “nominated” for a Pulitzer Prize for its Lindsay Lohan coverage….
Well, why not? Joe Pulitzer was a yellow journalist himself, so it’s not like he’s going to roll over in his grave. Besides, this is one Pulitzer story that we know for a fact is true.
I do agree with Steve Smith that in the top 20 concerns I wish the media would focus on, Edwards doesn’t even make an honorable mention. The same is true of the Sanford affir, the Craig scandal etc.
Now, if someone publishes an article proving/demonstrating that Edwards used campaign funds to bribe his babby-momma, that’s worth a lot more.
Well, why not? I can’t think of any more deserving. Not that more deserving stories aren’t out there, the majority of the media just don’t find them worth pursuing.

Yeah, that might almost make page 20 in the NYT, but only after Edwards is indicted, convicted, and loses his appeal.
I pity the Onion writers.
They are having a harder and harder time competing with reality.
