  1. As AL is likely to be busy, I’ll answer that. The 82nd could mean the Division HQ, or any of the brigades (who can deploy separately from their division HQ — that’s the idea of a BCT, “Brigade Combat Team”). Army deployments require a certain ‘dwell time’ between them, so it’ll be a while before his unit heads out again.

  2. Glad to see him bck home and safe, and yeah Grim is right – just because part of the 82nd is deploying doesn’t mean the whole Division is.

    At any given time at Fort Hood over the last several years, a BCT of 1st Cav has always been about to deploy.
