  1. VT,

I looked at the title and author, laughed, and closed the page. I can’t imagine anyone _less_ qualified to analyze the psychology of Bush supporters than Paul Krugman.

Actually, given his fall from respected economist to a foaming-at-the-mouth columnist with a lax attitude toward the truth and his own dedicated fisking brigade, I think I’d be far more interested in a piece about the psychology of Paul Krugman.

  2. VT –

I can’t tell you how amusing it is to constantly have the ‘Rambo’ flag waved by those who oppose military action; by definition, in their view, those who support military action are ‘Rambos’.

It’s especially delightful, because in the film, John Rambo is simply trying to lead his life and visit with a fellow veteran, when he is unjustly arrested and abused by local law enforcement – and so his ‘battle’ is his effort to escape abuse and attain some measure of justice.

Krugman was a great economist and has become a court jester. I sincerely hope that he can, once again, write things that add to the world of thought as he has done in the past. This column doesn’t.

    A.L.
